Aileen Holt Williamson

Aileen Holt Williamson of Cosby, Tennessee passed away on March 8, 2017. She was born in New Prospect, Tennessee to the late William Joseph Holt and Mayme Ford Holt on April 11, 1930. After graduating from Cosby High School, Mrs. Williamson attended ETSU and Maryville College. She began her career with the Cocke County School System as a teacher at New Prospect School, close to the Holt's mountain home and where her father had also taught school. A believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, she was a long-time member of Liberty Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Ladies Bible Study leader for many years. Mrs. Williamson was devoted to her faith, family, community, and country. She lived a humble and noble life. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Eulas Williamson, parents, Joseph and Mayme Holt, and infant sister, Shirley Holt. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia and husband Randall Arrowood of Newport; Kaye and husband Mike Buckley of Knoxville; and Danise and husband Larry Cooley of Knoxville; grandchildren and their spouses, Barry and Rebecca Arrowood, Amie Kelley, Dr. Ryan and Ashley Buckley, Tyler Buckley, Cameron Cooley, and Cade Cooley; four great-grandchildren, Seth Arrowood, Erin and Leah Kelley, and Holt Buckley; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Hooper and Lillian Holt, Tom and Judy Holt, Janice Canan, Josie and Bob Kauffman, and Irene and Gary Hance. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dean and Deannie Williamson, Othella Cody and Lonnie Layman, as well as a number of nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. The family would like to thank Jefferson County Nursing home and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their tender and constant care, and special friends, Pauline Ownby and Sheila Dennis, for their unwavering support during Mrs. Williamson's illness. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Liberty Church of Cosby. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with John Rush officiating. Mrs. Williamson will be buried beside her husband at Ogle Cemetery, Cosby. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be sent to Liberty Church of Cosby, 3541 Cosby Highway, Cosby, TN 37722.
