Brenda Faye Mantooth

Brenda Faye Wines Mantooth, age 75, went home to be with the Lord after an eight-month decline in health due to dementia, a disease she courageously battled since her diagnosis in 2018.She attended Gregg's Chapel Church until her health began to advance. Born the youngest of eight children to Birthow and Evelyn Wines, Brenda learned early the values of hard work and perseverance. Brenda was widowed at the young age of 29 following the passing of her beloved husband, Terry Ronnie Mantooth. Though she faced a tremendous loss, she showed remarkable strength by devoting herself to raising their two children. Brenda and Terry welcomed their son, Terry Dale Mantooth, in 1970 and their daughter Shirley Mantooth Collins, in 1974. Her children were her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to make sure they were loved, supported, and encouraged. For 29 years, Brenda faithfully worked at Electro-Voice, building lasting friendships and earning the respect of her coworkers before the plant closure forced her into early retirement. Above all, Brenda was a proud sports mom and grandmother. She could often be found in the stands cheering for her family. She loved watching Terry Dale on the football field and Shirley on the basketball court. As her family grew, she became an enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports, cheerleading, and every activity they pursued. Brenda was known for her competitive spirit, and anyone who attended a game with her knew she never hesitated to let the referees know when she thought they had missed a call. Her passion for her family and their success was evident to all who knew her. Even though Brenda's voice may be silent in the stands, her love, encouragement, temper, and fierce devotion for her family will continue through generations. Her family finds comfort knowing she is reunited with those who loved the Lord and have gone on before her, and that her legacy of faith, determination, and love will never be forgotten. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Ronnie Mantooth; her parents, Birthow and Evelyn Wines; her sister, Thelma Lou Reece; and her brothers, James Henry Wines, Herman Alvin Wines, Birthow "Jr" Wines, and David "Hummy" Wines. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in- law Terry Dale and Crystal Mantooth; her daughter and fiancé, Shirley Collins and Mark Fox; grandchildren, Kalsea(Kris) Sutton, Masey(Elliott) Rednour, Tyler(Megan)Mantooth, and Sierra Collins(Hunter Ball); and great-grandchildren, Braxon James, Kalvary Sutton,Adley Hipshire,Kayleb Sutton,Mallory Mantooth,Karpenter Sutton, and Leyton Ball. She is also survived by her siblings: Woodrow (Dottie Jean) Wines, Eula Mae (John) McMillan, and Mary Elizabeth Taylor; sisters-in-law, Betty Wines and Gayla Wines; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at Manes Funeral Home by 9:45 a.m. for the procession to the graveside services on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery. Rev. Tyler Mantooth will officiate. Serving at pallbearers will be Terry Mantooth, Mark Fox, Tyler Mantooth, Kris Sutton, Elliott Rednour, and Hunter Ball.
