Clyde Willis

Clyde Willis, age 89, of Parrottsville, passed peacefully with his family by his side and stepped into his eternal heavenly home on Thursday, January 4th, 2024. He was a long-time member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Del Rio. After his health declined, he attended Browns Chapel Church in Parrottsville. Clyde accepted Jesus at age 16 and loved attending church, and especially enjoyed gospel singing. He also loved attending weddings and graduations, especially his children and grandchildren’s, whom he adored. His greatest joy was being with his family. He also loved visiting Myrtle Beach. . He retired from Quaker Oats and then worked for the U.S. Forestry Service. Clyde was a lifelong farmer and purchased his first farm in Del Rio at age 19. He was the hardest working person we have ever known. He never met a stranger and to know him was to love him. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Lillie Jennings Willis; great-granddaughter, Delaney Voyles; parents: Leonard and Tessie (Lunsford) Willis, step-mother Agnes Willis, brothers, Herman and Kenneth Willis, father-in-law and mother-in-law Mark and Hattie Jennings, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and cousins. After the death of his mother when he was just six years old, he spent a lot of time with his “Grandma” Tennie Willis. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Willis (Larry) Brooks of Custer, Ky, and Connie Willis (Randall) Frisbee of Parrottsville; four grandchildren, Josh (Olivia) Brooks of Elizabethtown, KY, Laura (Jared) Voyles of Custer, KY, Dr. Jason (Shannon) Frisbee of Midway, TN, and Emily Brooks of Denver CO; seven great-grandchildren, Josh and Bo Brooks; Makenah, Jace Beckett, and Amberley Voyles, and Travis and Logan Sara Frisbee; sisters, Bernice Manning, Pearl Parton, Tennie Lou Yates, Nellie Johnson, and Rachel (Boyce) Williams; brothers, Arthur, Paul (Doris) , Orville (Donna), and Luther Willis; and brother-in-law Boyd Morrow. Pallbearers will be: Josh Brooks, Joseph Brooks, Jason Frisbee, Jared Voyles, Johnny Jennings, and Donald Yates. Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, from 4-7 pm. with service to follow at 7 pm. in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Randall Frisbee and Pastor Steve Blanchard officiating.
