Donald Williams

Our beloved dad, Donald H. Williams, went home to be with the Lord on, Thursday, July 26, 2018. He was born May 13, 1934 in Parrottsville, TN. He was honored to have the privilege of serving his country in the United States Army for 20 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a proud American who believed in standing for the flag and kneeling for the Lord. He loved Sudoku, math games, and playing pranks on those he loved. He had a great laugh and loved to make people smile. Admired by his children, family, and friends, he was a loving, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Webb Williams; parents, Bob and Estelle Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Hobart Jackson; and brother, Bobbie "Rat" Williams. He is survived by his children, John David (Sue) Williams of Ladson, SC, Darrell (Dawn) Williams of Newport, and Donna (Danny) DeMello of Morristown; grandchildren, David (Crystal) Williams of South Carolina, Jennifer (Joey) Robertson of South Carolina, Jordan (Jessica) Hansel of Newport, Jacob (Chelsey) Hansel of Morristown, Corie (Wayne) Holt of Talbott, Adam DeMello of Morristown, and Jessie (Jeremy) Williams of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Marshall (Marie Dover) Williams of Lorain, OH; special niece Thelma Woodson; special nephew, Alan "Butch" Jackson; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Linda) Clark of Newport; sisters-in-law, Emma Jean Stinson of Cosby, Joyce Clark of Newport, and Peggy (Harold) Huff of Parrottsville; special friend and "strolling companion" Geneva Ball; and 10 beautiful great-granddaughters that were the light of his life. With much love and gratitude, we want to thank Thelma and Butch for all the love and help and support during this most difficult time. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Bessie Brown, Barbara Crum, Katie Gregg, and Debbie Brown for the excellent in home care, love, prayers, and support given not only to our Dad but all of us. The family would also like to say "Thank You" to Vera Norton, Latisa Beason, Debra Grifin, Charlie Grooms, and Glen Bradley from Smoky Mountain Hospice for all the love and compassion shown to us at this difficult time. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm, Saturday in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin Graham officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Union Cemetery.
