Garnett Eugenia Campbell

Garnett Eugenia McReynolds Campbell, age 88, of Newport, Tennessee, passed away, Thursday, October 16, 2008, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Garnett was an active member of Wilsonville Baptist Church until her illness. She served as the church treasurer for many years. She was an avid reader, crafts person, seamstress, quilter and cook. She was especially known for her Christmas ornaments. Her recipe for "cheese potatoes" was widely known among family and friends. She made a quilt for every child, grandchild, and great grandchild. She was predeceased in death by her husband, William Homer Campbell; son, Norman Eugene Campbell, who died in 1957; parents, Lark and Florence Brown McReynolds, who died when Garnett was three years old; her grandparents, George and Lucy Maynard McReynolds, who reared her; her aunt and uncle, Elijah and Elizabeth McReynolds of Clifford, KY, and her grandfather, Isaac Newton Brown of Southside, WV, and her aunt and uncle William and Mahala Edwards of Winfield, WV. She was also predeceased in death by her brother, Kenneth Norman McReynolds and son-in-law, Charles Everett Austin. She is survived by her children, William Allen Campbell and his wife, Janet Lee Stottsberry Campbell of Zanesville, OH, Gwen Anne Campbell Sheriff and her husband, Dr. Jimmy Don Sheriff of Central, SC, Della Gail Campbell Jones and her husband, William Pendleton Jones of Lexington, SC, John Leon Campbell and his wife Okkyung "Susan" Kim of Los Angeles, CA, Judith Campbell Austin Wells and her husband James Larry Wells of Morristown, TN; grandchildren, James Allen Campbell, Brenda Lee Bostic, Stephen Wayne Campbell, Shawn Joseph Austin, Jennifer Dawn Shelton and Christina Lee Greene; great-grandchildren, Chaz Allen Campbell, Janessa Campbell, Garth William Bostic, Wyatt Andrew Bostic, William Campbell Bostic, Tilli Ann Campbell, Zachary Ryan Shelton, Abigail Claire Greene, Elijah Timothy Greene, Blake Taylor Austin, Brooke Emma Lee Austin and Hannah Paige Austin; great-great grandchildren, Lyla Ruth Bostic and Zachary Allen Campbell; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charlie Ottinger officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, October 17, 2008 at Manes Funeral Home
