Gerald (Jerry) Ezell

Gerald William Ezell , just 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2010. "Jerry" to all who knew and loved him was a blessed and thankful resident of Cosby, TN. Although he had been a life long resident in Florida, his heart had yearned for these glorious smoky mountains for over 20 years. In September 2008 he and his wife Linda gave God All The Glory, proclaimed on a large windmill, for being able to finally reach their mountain top in Tennessee. Jerry had a heart that was truly bigger than all outdoors-but he also had severe coronary artery disease. Despite multiple interventions by many doctors the greatest Physician of all called him to his heavenly home, where we can be comforted knowing that Jerry received a new heart and the health needed to hike those mountains in glory. Jerry was preceded in death by his father George William Ezell, step-daughter Kristie Lynn Robards, grandson Colby Brian Robards. He is survived by his wife Linda Cole Ezell, mother Beatrice Ezell, sister Deborah (Dick) Hopper, daughter Rhonda Ezell, sons Erik and Lance Ezell, stepson Kirk Rea, his grandchildren Adam Beauregard, Skyler Ezell and Kody Rea, his nephew Joshua Hopper, and a countless host of other loving family members and friends. He was a Viet Nam veteran who believed in the Christian concepts that originally founded these United States. Although he had worked various trades he continued to enjoy carpentry, gardening and being outdoors as much as possible. He loved old things, like wagons, wood stoves, barber chairs, and various antiques. He enjoyed Civil War history and longed for a cannon of his very own, along with a backhoe and a couple of mules.?? He was a good and faithful son, brother, cousin, friend and a greatly appreciated loving husband, father and grandfather who was dedicated in prayer daily for the salvation of his children and grandchildren. He knew being good is important in this life however it takes a personal relationship with God to assure our place in heaven and our hope of seeing him again. Two memorial services are scheduled to honor his memory. The first will be on September 7, 2010 at Providence Baptist Church, Newport, TN at 6:30 p.m.. The second will be on September 14, 2010 at Springhill Baptist Church in Yulee, FL at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Jerry would have been very proud to know that donations in his memory would be made to his church Providence Baptist, P.O.
