Huguette Suzanne Jones

Huguette Suzanne Pellerin Jones, age 84, of Newport, was born on November 23, 1928 in Epinay S. Seine, France, went to be with her Lord on August 4, 2013. She grew up during World War II where she met American soldier, Corporal Homer Jones, of Newport, Tennessee. Homer and Huguette were married on October 17, 1945 in Epinay S. Seine, France. Homer returned home to Newport to prepare for Huguette and infant daughter Danielle. They arrived in the US at Ellis Island on December 4, 1946. They then traveled by train to Newport, where Huguette and Homer had 8 children and resided until Homer's passing in 1958. Huguette taught herself English and acclimated herself to the American culture. She was left a widow at the age of 29 and worked hard to provide for her 8 children. Huguette was known as a beautiful, strong woman who was loved by all who met her. She was a member of Agape Baptist Church of White Pine, TN. Huguette Jones is preceded in death by her husband Homer Eugene Jones; parents Henriette & Christian Pellerin, and daughter Mary Shelton. She is survived by her children, Danielle (Herbert) Norton, Doris Pfutzenreuter, Henriette (Ronnie) Hance, Roselee Hall, Homer Jones Jr., Connie Phillips and Angel Meece; and son-in-law, Halbert Shelton. She remained strong for her family and helped raise 14 grandchildren; Suzanne (Greg) Kelly, Michael (Janet) Norton, Mark (Jennifer) Shelton, Danielle Pfutzenreuter, Adam and Lisa Hall Geoffrey, Jeremy, Angel, Roshea and Joshua Jones, David Phillips, Amber and Michael Hance; and 12 great grandchildren, Karla (Geoff) Marek, Noel and Isaac Norton, Brittany and Kylie Shelton, Christian Quarles, Zoey Williams, Jared and Gage Jones, Chrissy Phillips, Kadence Watson, and Cayson Hance; and honorary grandchild; Jacob Frazier; also her sisters, Denise, Angel, Christine and Jeanine, and many nieces, nephews and other family of Epinary, France. The family will be receiving family and friends on August 5th, 2013 from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm with funeral services following at 7:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Kitts officiating.
