Jack Earnest Wisecarver

Jack Earnest Wisecarver, age 80, of Parrottsville, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a pillar in his community and helped anyone who needed him. He was a proud member of Southside Baptist Church and was especially proud of his Sunday School Class. He was retired from many jobs in which he loved all. Country store owner, farm manager for Mr. Gene Easterly, county bus driver, most loved was dairy farmer. He served in the United States Navy for two years after being drafted. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Johnnie (Smith) Wisecarver, daughter, Johnalee Wisecarver Coffey, son-in-law, Daniel Coffey, all of Parrottsville; granddaughters, Rachel Coffey Harmon, grandson-in-law, Greg Harmon, of Gray , TN; Erica Coffey of the home; and his pride and joy great-grandson, Aiden Harmon; brothers, Clyde Wisecarver of Wilmington, NC; Fred Wisecarver (Lois) of Morristown, Tn; Junior Wisecarver (Thelma) of Salisbury, NC; brother-in-law, Marvin Stroud of Mohawk, TN; several precious nieces and nephews; special friend Stephen Embry. He was the son of the late Mary Lou Derry Wisecarver Sparks (C.D.) and Hedrick Wisecarver of Mohawk and was also preceded in death by his sister, Janice Stroud. He was an active member of his community. He was president of the Cocke County Farm Bureau for several years; on the board of the Rural Health Clinics; on the board for the Tennessee Valley Fair; member of the Cattlemen's Association, a founding member of the Parrottsville Volunteer Fire Department; longtime member and past president of the Parrottsville Ruitan Club active deacon several years while attending Forest Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Charles Boggan and Rev. Milburn Shelton officiating. Burial will be held 1:00 pm FRIDAY, February 14, 2014 in Harned Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Southside Baptist Church.
