Lynnell Page Parker

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. These are the words Lynnell would undoubtedly echo to us today. She slipped peacefully from this life to Heaven during the early hours of October 26, 2017. The Lord decided His faithful servant had endured enough after a heartbreaking illness. She is now in her eternal home and rejoicing with her mother, Amanda Tidwell Page; her mother-in-law, Maxie Charlotte Terry; her father-in-law, Cecil Benjamin Parker; and other relatives. She leaves behind her cherished and devoted husband of 44 years, Wayne; her children, Wes and Adrienne; grandchildren, Parker and Michael Frascogna; her father, Russell; sister, Gayle; brother, Russell (Allen); sister-in-law, Martha (Pat); brother-in-law, Dwight; and nieces, Rachael and Michelle; and nephews, Richard and Travis. Lynnell was raised in Lincoln Park, NJ and moved to Tuscaloosa, AL to attend the University of Alabama where she met Wayne. They were married in November, 1973. She was Head Nurse of the Intensive Care Unit at the VA Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. She and Wayne came to Newport, TN in 1980 when Wayne purchased and became the sole proprietor and pharmacist of Newport Drug Store, into which they both poured heart and soul to make a success. She selflessly forfeited her nursing career to become an incredible stay-at-home mother and bookkeeper for the pharmacy. She was an avid reader, lover of the beach and travel, loyal friend and faithful listener, seamstress, crafty party planner, perfectionistic gift wrapper, incredible cook, and a licensed pilot. Lynnell and Wayne are members of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Newport, Tennessee. The family would like to extend special thanks to the medical staff who took such wonderful care of her and helped her fight so valiantly to overcome her diagnosis. Words cannot express the blessing that her sister, Gayle, has been in the last days, by being ever present by her side and providing continuous nursing care. The family will receive friends at Manes Funeral Home on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. with services to follow at 7:00 pm. She will be buried at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to either of Lynnell's favorite charities to which she faithfully gave and held dear: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN and the Alabama Baptist Children's Home.
