Sandra Cashen Strom Jenkins

Sandra Cashen Strom Jenkins, age 65 of Newport, passed from her earthly home on Saturday, February 1, 2025. She is now in her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her loved ones who have gone before her and are awaiting her arrival with opened arms. Sandra was a member of Wilsonville Baptist Church and she loved her church family dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Dee Strom; grandparents Robert and Louvanchia Cashen and Hubert and Florence Mabe Strom; sister Linda Cutshall; special sister-in-law Penny Strom; and brother-in-law Bobby Fisher. She is survived by her husband Charles “Mike” Jenkins; very special nieces Charley Elizabeth Grace who was the light of her life and had made her home with Sandra and Mike since she was nine days old. Survivors also include children John Jenkins and Michele and Jay Sessoms all of Maryland; grandchildren Kenny Jenkins, Elizabeth (Jean) O’dea, Michaela Jenkins Sessoms, Victoria “Tori” Sessoms, James Jenkins, and Andra Lyn Brown; great-granddaughter Samiya O’dea all of whom she loved dearly and unconditionally; other survivors include her brothers and sisters who were also her best friends, Jeff Strom, Terry (Tracy) Strom, Angie Jenkins (Dennis Nelson), and Debbie Fisher; and brother-in-law R.J. Cutshall. Sandra also leaves behind to cherish her memory several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and two great-great nieces all of whom held a very special place in her heart. The family wishes to thank all of Sandra’s health care providers, her church family, and all other friends and family for their love, care, support, and especially for their prayers during this time. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday February 6, 2025 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Vaughn and Tommy Ball officiating. Entombment will follow in the Union Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Manes Funeral Home. Per Sandra’s Request, in lieu of flowers donations be made for Charley’s College Fund to Charles (Mike) Jenkins or Angie Jenkins.
