Trista Lynae Reed

Trista was born to Charles and Brenda Reed on August 31, 1977, in Parrottsville, Tennessee. She departed her earthly life on December 19, 2023, at home with her family by her side. Trista fought a good fight battling congested heart disease for many years. She traveled near and far to support her athletic children in sports despite her frail health. She never gave up hope that one day God would grant her a “New Heart”, but He gave her a clean heart. Trista received her education at Parrottsville Elementary, Cocke County High School, and Walters State Community College. She was active in sports, softball, and basketball—recreational softball with the “Playmates” who traveled near and far and won numerous championships. Trista was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Reed; sister, Treni LaShae Reed of Parrottsville, Tennessee; Paternal grandparents, Sandy and Stella Reed; maternal grandparents, William and Katherine Carmichael. Trista leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Tjara of Nashville, Tennessee, Uriah Reed and son Amir Reed of Newport, Tennessee; Mekiah, Shakyra Reed, and son, Triston Brown of Parrottsville, Tennessee; Mother, Brenda Reed, Parrottsville, Tennessee; brothers, Charles (Maria) and children (Najae, Cassius, Iyana) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jacob, Aliyah, Malachi and Carly Reed of Newport News, Virginia, Chandler of Parrottsville, Tennessee (children, Kyron (Brittany), Shayden, Destiny, and Brayden; Sister, Lizabeth Reed of Knoxville, Tennessee; uncle, Sandy Reed of Jefferson City, Tennessee. Many other uncles, aunties, cousins, and friends. Special friend Tayna Lettnell, classmates, Teresa Phillips and Tayna Hannon. Her favorite cousin Jerome Carmichael. She will always be remembered for that beautiful smile with those “dimples” like her mother. The family wishes to thank all the medical teams that treated her condition, U.T. Hospital, St. Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee; Gentiva Hospice Team in Greeneville, Tennessee, and First Priority Ambulance Team, Newport, Tennessee. The Family will receive friends 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Manes Funeral Home. The funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m. in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Leon Charles and Elder Charles R. Reed officiating. Burial to follow in Gum Springs Union Cemetery.
