Barbara Miller Parks

Barbara Miller Parks, age 69 of Newport, passed away peacefully while sleeping on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Barbara was born on May 8, 1953 in Clearwater, South Carolina. She graduated from Parrottsville High School in 1971. She married the love of her life, Jerry, March 17, 1972. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Jerry Parks, their daughter Cynthia Matahsha Parks, father and mother Lonnie and Cynthia Worley Miller, and brother Don Miller. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Nikki and Randall Clabo of Seymour, Shandi and Bradley Whittenburg of Greeneville, and Heather and Ralph Sauceman of Parrottsville. Barbara’s biggest joy in life was being “Mamoo” to her seven grandchildren, Destanee Redden, Nadalynn Sauceman, Draven Fine, Jesse Sauceman, Ryleigh Whittenburg, Judson Sauceman, Rhett Suaceman, and her only great-grandchild Sebastian Redden, She had two grandsons-in-law Tanner Redden and Nik Williams. Barbara is also survived by a brother-in-law Billy (Alice) Park of Parrottsville, sister Jean (Roger) Payne of Newport, and several nieces and nephews. Barbara will be greatly missed by many special friends. Some of her closest were Paula Bearden, Vickie Moore, Arnold and Jenny Worley, Edna and the late Burl Ottinger, and Ed and the late Sue McNabb. We have always admired our Mom’s beauty and heart of a sixteen year old. She loved music and anything tie dyed. Barbara will always be known for her free spirit and being the coolest “Mamoo” around. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, June 17, 2022 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow on Friday at 7:00 pm in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Arnold Worley, Ralph Sauceman, Bradley Whittenburg, Randall Clabo, Tanner Redden, and Nik Williams.
