Leroy Grooms
May 12, 1937 - February 15, 2022
Charles “Leroy” Grooms, of Cosby, met his Lord and savior Jesus Christ surrounded by his family at home on February 15th 2022. He is survived by his spouse of 47 years Eunavee Grooms and always proclaimed, “Besides salvation she is the best gift God ever gave me.” He is also survived by his children, son Charlie (Wendy) Grooms, daughter Carrie Grooms (James South), grandaughter’s Phoebe and Gracie Grooms, Ariel and Raven South, special nephew Junior Benson, also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The last surviving of ten kids he is preceded in death by his parents Phoebe and Harve Grooms, sisters Ruby, Beulah, Trula, Belva and Viola, brothers, Bricky, Johnny, Elvie and Walt . Leroy retired after 20 years of service from Bush’s can factory in Dandridge but soon discovered retirement wasn’t for him. He returned to the work force with the Cocke County Sanitation Department where he worked at the Cosby Convenient Center until his health would no longer allow him. Family will receive friends Thursday February 17th from 5-7 pm., with the funeral at 7:00 pm, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Doug Messer officiating. Interment Friday February 18th at 11:00 am at Phillips cemetery located off Groundhog road in Cosby. Special Thank You to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
