Reta June Proffitt, 87, of Newport, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022. She was a stay at home mom for many years. Then for several years she baby sat. The children called her mama June. She found great joy working at Dollywood. She worked there 27 years at Miss Lillians, and retired at age 82. She loved her family especially when they all would gather together. She loved flowers both inside and outside her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Kennith Proffitt, sister Lois Proffiit, brothers OJ Rolen, CB Rolen and Donald Rolen. She is survived by daughters Carolyn (Charles) Epley of White Pine, Karen (Gordon) Davidson of Monroe, Georgia, sisters Golee Rolen of Maryville and Sheila Patrick of Maynardville, brothers J Roy Rolen, Horace Rolen, and Dexter (Linda) Rolen of Sevierville; grandchildren, Chris (Mandy) Epley of Newport, Mandy Epley (Nick) of New Orleans, Emily Davidson of Athens, Georgia, Matt (Kathy) Davidson of Waco, Texas, great-grandchildren, Jacob Epley and Lucas Epley of Newport, Sara (Jerred) Baldwin of Johnson City, Judah Davidson, Joel Davidson, and Jack Davidson of Waco, Texas; great-great grandson Wyatt Epley of Newport, great-great-grandson, Bryce Baldwin of Johnson City, great-great granddaughter Brynn Frazier of Parrottsville, several nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm Friday, July 15, 2022 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, James Suggs officiating. Burial will be held Saturday July 16, 2022 11:00AM in the Rolen-Breeden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 7:00 Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
