Albert "Al" Stepp

Albert “Al” Stepp would like to let you know his work on Earth is done. He received a call from Jesus, a sort of offer he couldn’t refuse for an appointment, which he will not be returning. This call had a huge sign on bonus, a reunion with family and friends and a new body. This offer takes him to a glorious place where there will be a celebration upon his arrival. Al was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, his kind compassionate spirit, and his love for the Lord. Al was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. He left detailed instructions for his family to celebrate his life which had been assigned by God while on Earth. His mission is complete. We have been so blessed and learned so many valuable lessons from him during the time he shared with his family and friends. On Monday, September 2, 2019 at 6:20 am, Al Stepp, loving husband, father of two daughters and grandfather of two grandsons, went to be with the Lord at the age of 78 after his battle with Adrenal Gland Cancer. Al was born on June 14, 1941 in Bybee, TN to Howard and Margaret Stepp. He married Wilma James on April 6, 1962. They raised two daughters, Lisa and Veronica. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Howard and Margaret Stepp. He is survived by his wife Wilma Stepp; His two daughters, Lisa Stepp and Veronica Stepp Holt; honorary daughter Angie Seay; son-in-law Brian Holt; two grandsons, Jacob and Jonah Holt; honorary granddaughters, Sarah Seay and Cherokee Cobb; special sisters, Virginia Blazer and Nancy Valentine; sister and brother-in-law, Henreitta and Wade Lane; sister-in-law Lucy Stepp; special family, Linda Lane, Karen Black, and Mark Ramsey; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Al was a patient of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. The family wishes to thank his nurses Latisha, Saprina, and Chelsey for the wonderful care given to him. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm on Thursday in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Runions officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am Friday, September 6, 2019 in Union Cemetery.
