Charles Everett Hall

Charles Everett Hall 69 of Newport passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at his beloved mountain home. Charles lived his whole life in Newport, Dandridge area. He was born April 16, 1955 in Newport to parents Kenneth Hall father and surviving mother Elizabeth Holloway Hall Miller. Charles attended Edgemont Elementary, Swannsylvania Elementary. Then Maury and Cocke County High School. He was employed by Hearthstone Log Homes and Bush Beans, where he retired. He accumulated many friends throughout life and enjoyed keeping in touch with them. His best friend and cousin Buddy Fox will never be forgotten as a “team” that worked together in the garage more than 20 years. He loved to work on automobiles; Charles kept his family and friends autos running and never asked for any pay. He helped everyone in the hollow and hills around. He especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends at “the old home place” Holloway Homestead. His grandchildren’s fondest memories are of going to his home and playing with all the farm animals. Surviving spouse Penny Poe Hall since Spring of 1996. Charles’s first marriage was to Janie Marie Dyke mother of their daughter Tracy Hall (Susan) McGaha. Charles’s previous surviving spouse and special friend Sharon Marshall Hall were married in December 1974 and is the mother of their two children Regina Hall (Randy) Sikes and Son Bruce Everett Hall. Surviving Special Friend Phillysine Clevenger and mother of their daughter Missy Ann Clevenger Surviving previous spouse Geraldine Gann Hall is the mother of their son Charles Lethan Hall. Charles was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Hall and his baby sister Deborah Ann Hall Smith of Alabama. He is survived by his two sisters Geraldine Hall (Gary) Ridens of Newport, and Mary Lou Hall (Greg) Burns of Alabama. His son Bruce and special grandson Tanner will forever be sorrowful for the loss of his fatherhood. Charles is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. A special “Shout Out” to his crew of friends at Buddy’s Garage. Close cousins that all considered as brother are Buddy Fox, Alfred Fox, Billy Hayes, Ronnie Hayes, Roger Stuart and Louie Hall, special cousin and neighbors. The family of Charles is inviting everyone to come to Manes Funeral Home on February 8, 2025 for a special service in celebration of a LIFE LIVED HIS WAY. Time is 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to a charity of your choice in his honor.
