Gary Holt

Gary Holt was born August 7, 1956, to William Carroll and Vera Holt in Bybee, TN. Gary unexpectedly passed away Saturday April 18, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Hospital after complications from a recent illness. Gary was a member of Cave Hill Baptist Church in Newport, TN. He worked with Royal Ambassador summer camp for 3 years and had also been an R. A. Leader at Northport Baptist Church. Gary was always busy doing something, whether it was working, helping others, or just getting a rise out of making others happy. He never walked when he could run. Gary loved working on the farm and being on the tractor. Amos, his faithful steed watching him along the way. Gary was full of life and brought joy and laughter to everyone that knew him. His twin brother Larry often says Gary was the best looking of the pair, so says his twin. One thing for certain is that Gary NEVER completely grew up and he will never grow old. Gary was a paramedic of 30 years in 3 different counties and spent the last 20 years at Dollywood where he retired in 2023. He was a 32nd Degree Masonic Member and Pass Master. As if that wasn’t enough, he was also a Shriner Clown. Gary is survived by his wife Dean Green Holt, daughter Jennifer, son Adam and his wife Ally, stepchildren: Shea, Anthony and his wife Schea, Brad and his wife Amber with grandson Franky, Andrew, as well as Sarah and her husband Wes. He is also survived by mother Vera Stewart, twin brother Larry, and brother Tim and his wife Michelle, with a special granddaughter Keirra Laws, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family. Gary was preceded in death by his wife Carla Holt; father William Carroll Holt, and his brother Lynn Holt. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Manes Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic Service held at 3:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel followed by the memorial service with Rev.
