Randy Pat Tucker 09/04/1957 – 03/04/2023 Randy Pat Tucker, age 65, of Newport, TN, passed away on March 4, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Randy was born in Memphis, TN and moved to Gatlinburg with his family, where he attended Gatlinburg-Pittman High School. His father was an entrepreneur who taught him the value of hard work. He began his career in the restaurant business at The Open Hearth, where he worked for decades for the Miller family. In 1994, he and his wife Tammy opened their own establishment, Tucker’s Main Street Café, in downtown Newport. The business thrived for 19 years and became “the place” for friends and families to gather over delicious home cooked meals made with love. Randy was kind, he was generous and selfless, sometimes to a fault. There was nothing he would not do for others. A loving husband and father. A gentle soul, who never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He adored his grandchildren and was so proud of his children. Randy was loved by everyone and touched many hearts along the way. He will be eternally missed. Randy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tammy Tucker; children Courtney Tucker Belmont (Beau), Hailey Tucker Douglas (Gordon), Drew Valentine (Kenzie), Shelby Tucker Adams (Lee); grandchildren, Kendree, Kamlynn, Tucker, Camden, Ruby, Karsyn, Teddi; siblings Rick Tucker (Kathy) and Greg Tucker (Cindy); cousins Keith Voyles (Trish) and Denise “Denny” Voyles Schlang (Tom) who are like siblings; his mother in law Betty Allen, and sister in law Kathy Goan, as well as many dear cousins, nieces and nephews that were very special to him. Randy has been blessed with many special friends over the years, a few of which include Freda Gibson, Mickey Gilliam, Eddie Rhodes, Junior Wampler, Harry “Cotton” Barrier and many more friends that were near and dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Patterson Tucker and his father Hayward O’Neal Tucker. A small graveside service will be held at the Baxter Templin family cemetery on Monday, March 6th at 2:00 pm. The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health for going above and beyond and being so supportive and caring. Randy’s work family at The Old Mill Restaurant and Janice’s Diner.
